A hardware brand entering a new fastener category may want boxes carrying its own logo and item codes. The technical product, however, still has to be identifiable to the buyer, installer and warehouse. Canco Fasteners lists private-label supply, branded cartons and barcode labeling among its supported export formats, subject to the specification agreed for each order.
The strongest private-label programme begins with two approvals: the fastener itself and the packaging system around it.
Lock the product specification before artwork
Do not design the box around an ambiguous title such as “heavy duty expansion bolt.” State the exact product, approved dimensions, material, coating, applicable requirements, pack quantity and intended use. For engineered anchors, verify that marketing statements and installation guidance are supported by product-specific information.
A box that carries unverified load figures or compliance logos can create a serious commercial problem. Use only approved claims and the exact required certification references where applicable.
Agree on the front, back and SKU labels
A useful carton may need brand identity, product photograph or drawing, dimensions, count, product code, batch identifier, safety text and scanning label. The brand owner should supply editable artwork, color guidance, barcode data and final print approval. Canco can discuss pack-size feasibility and a physical carton proof as part of the order.
The designer should know where folds, glue seams and labels will appear. A beautiful flat artwork file may become unreadable after assembly.
Select carton construction for the weight
A carton of steel anchors is not a cosmetic consumer package. Board quality, folds, edge crush, box filling and transit handling must be considered. Inner packs should protect surfaces and prevent mixing. For sea freight, consider appropriate moisture-management measures compatible with the chosen coating and environmental conditions.
Before approving bulk printing, check a filled sample carton. Confirm actual fit and readability, not just the dieline dimensions.
Connect every box to the production lot
Private label should never conceal traceability. Define which lot or production reference will appear on the carton, how the reference is linked to inspection records and what the importer should do if a nonconforming batch is identified. Barcode scanning does not replace the traceability system.
A practical launch checklist for Canco
Provide the target SKU list, artwork files, approved product specs, case-pack counts, planned annual volume, carton dimensions where fixed and the expected U.S. sales channel. Agree separately on sample cartons, printing costs, lead time and responsibility for final label compliance.

Quick buyer questions
Can every order size justify custom printing? Not necessarily; minimum printing batches and economics must be checked.
Can a brand claim a product approval automatically? No. Approval claims must be product-specific and supported.
Should labels include lot information? Usually valuable for inventory control and traceability; agree on the exact format.
