Double end stud bolts from Canco Fasteners are threaded at both ends with a plain unthreaded shank between, manufactured to DIN 835, DIN 938, DIN 939 and DIN 940, and to ASTM A193 Grade B7 for high-temperature and pressure applications. Available in mild steel, Grade 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 high tensile, and SS 304 and SS 316.
The tap end is designed to be screwed permanently into a tapped or cast component, while the nut end takes the removable fastening. Engagement length of the tap end is selected by the parent material: 1d for steel, 1.25d to 2d for cast iron, and 2.5d for aluminium and lighter alloys. The plain middle shank also carries dynamic and cyclic loads better than a fully threaded rod, because there is no thread root running through the stressed section to concentrate stress.
Used for flange and pump connections, motor and gearbox mounting, pressure vessel assemblies, machine frames and any joint that must be dismantled repeatedly without wearing the thread in the parent component.
Supplied M6 to M36 and 1/4" to 1-1/2" UNC in any length to order. Unequal thread lengths at each end, different thread sizes at each end, and fully non-standard geometry are produced to drawing. Supplied in bulk to distributors, importers and hardware brands worldwide, including private-label packaging in the customer's own branding, with a material test certificate on every consignment.
